‘An alternative legend about the moon flowers and the place where everything began’
A long, long time ago, when days were amaranth, nights were pink, and the sky above wasn’t even named… from the vast sky, dragging their fiery tails behind, crumbs of planets and stars fell on Earth like bullets. The moment was sudden, unexpected and – one could think – unsignificant. But when the sky stopped, the Earth stopped, and the universal immobility was becoming unbearable like a breath hold for too long, amidst the great lament and howl of the wind, the world burst into flames. They mercilessly devoured everything in their way, leaving behind a trail of
ashes. And when, as far as the eye could see, the world was covered in silver dunes, flowers grew from them in the night. From that time on, every night, they tremble in bright starlight, stretching their long, bird-like necks topped with colorful blossoms up to the sky, bringing solace to moths and other nocturnal insects.
The ancient people who knew the Secret of Secrets honoured this place, called it the ‘Heart of Things’, and considered it the world’s birthplace that we can reach through our ancestors’ memory, a place of a new beginning, miracles, anomalies, and self- fulfilling wishes.
To this day, the moon flowers open their blossoms every night with desperate longing and look at the sky in search of the Milky Way, whose crumbles have awaken the new order on Earth.
